About our Principals

Hill

Greetings Clearview families,

My name is Daniel Hill and I serve as Principal here at Clearview Elementary School in Waukegan, Illinois.  Born and raised in the city of Chicago, I am a proud husband and father of three young men whom have all attended Waukegan Public Schools at some point in their educational journey. I began my career in Waukegan Community Unit School District 60 in the fall of 2002, after graduating from the University of Minnesota, as a 6th grade teacher of students in the subject of mathematics at Jack Benny Middle School.  After three years of teaching 6th grade students, I moved to 8th grade where I also taught students mathematics for an additional 3 years at Jack Benny. In the Fall of 2008 I was hired as the Dean of Discipline at Jack Benny, and I served in this role for an additional 3 years.  Then, in the fall of 2011 I was hired to serve as the Assistant Principal at Abbott Middle School here in Waukegan. I served in the role of Assistant Principal for four years at Abbott and then in the fall 2015 I begin my tenure here at Clearview Elementary School, initially serving in the role of Interim Principal, and then later that year I was hired to serve officially as Principal here at Clearview.  During my time in the district I went back to school a couple of times and earned Master degrees in Educational Leadership from both Saint Xavier University and the American College of Education.

While at Clearview,  my personal motto has been “every student, every day, no days off!” Translated, this means that as part of my/our mission, is to ensure that we reach and teach every single child that enters into our building every single day and as long as we are present, we do not take a day off from this mission.  It is this motto and mission that guides the work that we do here at Clearview and we use it to guide our decision-making in ensuring that we are in fact meeting every student, every day. The fact is, that we're always teaching something and students are always learning something, the challenge is, are students learning that which we intend to teach?

I love teaching and learning and I welcome you all to join us and our mission to reach every student, every day #nodaysoff!
